Heritage Information is a charitable trust set-up to provide the public with a vetted register of consultants and skilled craftsmen and women who work in the field of conservation and restoration of historic buildings. It has received funding from the Dti, Heritage Lottery Fund, English Heritage and private donors and other trusts. CDA_HIT_01.jpg (110333 bytes)
When Wylie Associates joined the project, the organisation had an in-house team of experts from within the field of conservation and had appointed a software company to prepare an online database for the register. The register would be accessible to the public through a website, which would provide a comprehensive search facility to enable the public to identify people vetted by Heritage Information as suitable for providing products and services for historic buildings.

David Wylie, acting as client advisor with experience in both award-winning conservation work and short-listing for an international website design award, was appointed to provide technical and project management expertise for the preparation of the online database by the software company; acting as liaison between the client conservation team and the software writers. David was also instructed to liaise with the project funders so that funds could be released to an agreed schedule as the project developed.

David Wylie liaised with the client team to prepare the project requirements, including information required from applicants for the register, workflow during and after the vetting process and the search facilities for the public. David also prepared the critical path analysis during the software-writing process and liaised with the project funders to agree project milestones, the deliverables for each milestone, provide evidence that the deliverables had been achieved and ensure sign-off was achieved for the next tranche of funding.
